Coursera has an entire specialization on Social Media Marketing where they give you access to a text analytics app and to Twitter Insights (part of IBM Bluemix) as well. They also teach you the way how a lot of free tools can be used to your benefit.
Another MOOC I found useful was Jesper Astrom's Viral Hack course. It is not that sophisticated as the MOOCs in the coursera specialization, but gives you a clear idea about the things you should be prepared for.
If you do not have a proper plan with the right strategy and content setup, then social media becomes a huge timesink for you and your business.
Therefore most small businesses should focus their attention on being prepared and stick to 1-2 social media to start out with. Spreading beyond that is not likely to get you the necessary return on your time spent. An alternative is of course to buy a cheap management plan from a social media agency and let them manage the content and promotion for you.

> I hope I am posting this in the right place, I could really use some advice on how to organize my soical media accounts. Basically, I'm in the middle of three things right now; I am a graphic designer, I do crafts on the side so decided to start a small craft business, and then I am also starting a blog by a separate name. In order to market these, I know it's important to have social media marketing, but I just don't know how to juggle it all. Should I start a Facebook and Twitter for all 3 businesses separately? What about Pinterest? Any other social media sites that are a must today?
Hey Danelle,
Just wanted to offer some advice in terms of social media marketing. There are a lot of services that help you schedule content drips over all of your social media channels. These work good for releasing content but you still need engaging content that people will want to share. I find running contests helps build up the number of followers that participate in sharing your business for you. Running a video contest using ebassadors or a social sharing campaign will provide drastic results in no time. You can run a contest yourself or hire a company to do it for you. Either way, micro influencers who promote your company to their friends and family is the best way to generate real engagement. Hope that helps!
Social media often feeds into the discovery of new content such as news stories, and “discovery” is a search activity. Social media can also help build links that in turn support into SEO efforts. Many people also perform searches at social media sites to find social media content. Social connections may also impact the relevancy of some search results, either within a social media network or at a ‘mainstream’ search engine.

Behavior Driven Development (BDD) TrainingPinterest is a big social networking site, where you can promote your website. It is big network as like google. I recommend you to use Dlvr.it. It is a similar automation tool that allows you to automatically share new posts to your social profiles. You can set this up using the RSS feed for your blog, which is usually (if you’re using WordPress) It will save your time.
