I think hiring a consultant for a project is a good solution

Sure, but with so many consultant agencies out there, all claiming to be the best at what they do, it is essential to do your due diligence first and really dig into which company or person is right for you. They usually come with a high price tag, so you need to make sure you're getting the best bang for your buck.

Hiring a consultant is a great option when you find yourself outside of your area of expertise. If you don't have the time to dedicate to learning an entirely new sector of your business, you can then dedicate that time saved to growing your business. It's all about working smarter.

Susan's tip about marketing tools and resources is also a great one. Speaking from personal experience, Hootsuite's social media dashboard is a serious time saver!

    Great article!
Also I'd like to add that caution is key to startup success. So we should keep on learning and asking questions, pay attention to the reviews of the clients, successful and failed stories.
In addition it's important to invest in your team and make it more motivated and professional.
And the consultants often warn not to diversify the investments too early. With time and proper investment, you’ll soon be poised to open another location or expand to a new market. Reinvestment will always be a smart business move.

Good advice, @Helen Larsen. It's OK to make mistakes, but learning from those mistakes and altering the process based on those experiences for better results next time is key.

@Ryan O'Bleness Yes, fully agreed. There are so many stories when successful entrepreneurs failed at the beginning of their business life. No regrets! Conclusions only :)
