Recently my wife placed an add in the local penny saver for our sofa and loveseat. This is a free paper in our area that is circulated for free as well. The ads are free for a small add under a certain amout of words I think. Anyhow, the response has been terrific. I think a lot of that has to do with the price (175 bucks) for both but Im surprised that so many are interested. I`m wondering is free advertising the best way to go for a startup vs. starting a PPC or some other SEM strategy. Has anyone had any real success with the free channels over a period of time?
