Temp to Hire ?

I think I read somewhere on this web forum about the website POSTaNEED and I was thinking, isn`t this website the perfect way to do the temp to hire thing for free ?
Think about it, I have a position that I want to find the right employee for so I post the need for a temp worker and if I`m really happy with their performance, I can offer them a full time position, or not ask them to come back if their not what I`m looking for and post another need, with out the commitment of a full time employee.
Plus this website is free and people can make a profile of themselves that I can see before even waisting my time with an interview.
Is that not better then interviewing a few people and just hiring one of them ?

As an HR person, I would still recommend interviewing - even if it is for a temp-to-hire position. A little time upfront - saves alot of time later.
