Wondering if LLC is right for me

I have been dabbling in some consulting and and minor web design for a year (still have a full time job) and have since decided that I want to possible look to do some kind of formal corporation or LLC. My question is more directed at my taxes. To date I pay for my website, computer, phone, etc.. out of my pocket. Which brand of micro business would be the best fit, LLC or S corp? BTW - I`ve come to this conclusion after talk with my bro-in-law after talking about new computer equipment to use while supporting this venture. Thanks in advance.
