Free or Discounted to grow portfolio?

Hello SUN'ers,
I'd like to launch a waiting room play space business where I would re-design or create a clean, entertaining play space for children in establishments that typically have wait times, and service to families or parents.
So my question is would it be a good idea to offer my services for free or at a discounted rate to build up my portfolio?
My fee would be a set price or a percentage of 15% of the total project. They would 'normally' pay my fee, and the cost of the play space equipment.
Curious as to feedback, and suggestions you guys may have.
