How to protect a name

If I am trying to proctect the name of my website, would I apply for a Servicemark instead of a Trademark and is that enough to protect it? The websites name would not be the name of a product or good, we are provide a service to our users.

Hi Greg.  This type of question is why trademark lawyers are helpful.  The answer is that it depends on how the mark is going to be used.  This type of answer is probably not helpful enough to make a decision.  I suggest you seek legal counsel on this.
