Garment Manufacturing Advice

Hello,
I am in the very early stages of planning a Custom Sports Uniform Manufacturing business. I would like some advice on some of the things required to start a business of this nature. So far I have lined up a material supplier, looked into embroidery machines, sublimation printers, and screen printing equipment.
One of the things that concerns me the most is the actual construction of the garments. What kind of sewing machines do I need? Should I be looking to find employees to do the sewing? Also, what about setting up patterns? Any insight would be more than appreciated, and feel free to point out anything and everything I have overlooked.
