how to make a website? how does it work?

i read & heard a lot about website. but i don`t really understand fully how it works. hope you can enlighten me. i like to learn about it.

There are plenty of good sources of information on starting your web site.....try Microsoft`s Live or Yahoo small business hosting......but...You first have to think about why your building the site, who are you trying to reach?
