First of all, design thinking can be defined as an innovative process in which the designers seek to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems in order to create alternative ways and solutions that might not be instantly seen with apparent level of consideration. Alternatively, design thinking provides a new level of problem solving through a solution-based approach. It is a way of collectively thinking and working together as a collection of hands-on method.

It is believed that what makes design thinking different from the other types of innovation is the user engagement or co-creation between service or product user and also provider in which using their experiences into the design process as it helps the provider to observe and develop empathy with the target user.

While this method may be used to solve problems in a creative and innovative way, design thinking process is not be as easy as it sounds. One of the biggest challenges to this day is that this method may have to accurately picture the problems that the users are facing.
