Hey there! I’ve helped build some pretty heavy hitting brands with a very dominant focus on SEO. You don’t necessarily have to have a big established brand if you’re smart about it. Here’s what you need to do:

    1. there are two veins typically to any blog content. Branded (Aka stuff that is super specific to only you) and Non-branded (stuff that’s driven by a keyword strategy). Then, all of your content needs to fit into categories or clusters.
    2. now you need a keyword strategy. I personally like Ahrefs but their prices are pretty high for someone who is simply blogging, so you can use google AdWords’ keyword planner instead. What you need to find are keywords that are low competition (or very low budget in AdWords... like less than 10¢ that are within your content clusters, but with search volumes in like the 50-100+ range
    3. then literally google those keywords and look at alllllll the articles on the first page of google. Now write something better, more thorough, and more helpful.
    4. include the keyword in the URL, post title and throughout the article NATURALLY (definitely use synonyms and stuff so it’s not awkward. Google will still associate the right keywords). Include some helpful external links throughout, high quality images and alt tags for your images. And ALWAYS have a comment section and encourage comments/discussions.
    5. make sure you have google search console set up and submit your site map, but also submit the URL for each article after you publish them. This helps google to crawl & index a little faster.
    6. If you focus on writing helpful & thorough content in a way that’s easy to read for any reading level and do all of the things above, you’ll have traffic. If readers feel like you have an agenda that trumps writing something helpful, you’ll undermine yourself.

SEO is incredibly more difficult than it used to be. It is getting harder everyday. Imagine how much content is being released everyday online?

    The numbers are staggering.

However, you can certainly still have success if you are ready to put in the hard yards. It is going to take you at least 6 months to 1 year to get some decent traction.

Do you think you have the persistence to do this?
