Is dividend paid out to the shareholders?

Hello, my name is Lars. And i just want to know, if dividend is paid out to the shareholders? And if not, who will get the money? Btw the business is in the USA.

    Hi LarsVistii,

    Yes, normally dividend are paid to shareholders. 

    Some companies do not distribute dividend and even if a company does distribute dividends the board of directors might decide to only approve dividend for some classes of stock.

    Also dividends can be in the form of money or stocks.
