Basically you can go for marketing tactics which can promote your business for free. Like promote your business on Facebook by providing link to your Facebook page to Facebook active groups and pages in a presentable manner. Share valuable information to your Facebook page and reply actively to question and queries asked. In same way you can also try to pay Facebook little amount to boost your page. Use other social channels and SEO techniques. You'll for sure find all this very useful.

I feel that your blogpost is outdated in the sense that it uses very boring textbook marketing tactics to tackle the modern form marketing. Social media is young, hip, and highly effective but it cannot be view through old eyes.

There are tons of ways to advertise a business nowadays.
Blogspot is definitely on the end though - not a lot of people are using the blogspot medium anymore.

It also depends on the type of media that you are good at/more comfortable in using.
i.e. Text = wordpress/medium/guest post on top blogs
Pictures = instagram/pinterest/tumblr
Video = youtube/snap/vine

All = reddit (but this one warrants a whole wall of text...or more of a book.
