A fulfillment warehouse is a type of Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider which “receives, holds, and transports a conumer product in the ordinary course of business but who does not take title to the product.” Essentially, a fulfillment warehouse stores your inventory and ships orders to your customers.

Fulfillment can be a very complicated business if you are not familiar with its process. A simple mistake in the shipping address or the order details can mean disaster for your business. Fulfillment may mean different things depending on the type of business you're in, but in general it means shipping, inventory management and order processing. There are many 3PL providers out there, but all you need to  evaluate is your current situation and future plans. based on that, do proper research and find a logistics company that fits your requirement.

If you are a new startup, you should not worry too much about warehousing and distribution right away. This is a huge investment, which you might not have the money to afford. Instead, start small. Find a reliable supplier, and work with him to fulfill all (or as many as you can) of your orders. Get your product out there, and make money. Once you have made a little money and feel comfortable with your company, you can think of expanding your logistics.
