Side hustle must be smart work, but I see a lot of people ( mainly students ) investing a lot of their time on side-hustle, making it a job-like thing.

No- a side hustle is a side hustle. It will be easier to understand if you can put a value on your time. The main focus and time and money spent should be on your MAIN hustle.
