Django and Drupal are both frameworks with dedicated functionality for content management, but there is a key difference between them: Drupal combines aspects of a web application framework with aspects of a CMS. Django separates the framework and the CMS.

In the question“What are the best CMS for building a multilingual website?” Drupal is ranked 1st while Django CMS is ranked 2nd. The most important reason people chose Drupal is: Drupal is stable, with powerful version control and access control methods and can handle large amounts of traffic.

Drupal is pretty much an obsolete platform (look at the market share.) Wordpress is king there.

Django is very good for building custom applications with special performance considerations.

If building a simpler site or blog, Django is definitely not the right approach, unless you're a programmer with much experience with it and there are specific use cases Wordpress wouldn't handle gracefully.

The Python-based Django CMS is well-known for being user-friendly, adaptable, and extensible. Since it is developed on top of the Django web framework, customising and integrating it with other Python-based tools is simple.

In contrast, the PHP-based Drupal CMS is renowned for its scalability, security, and flexibility. There are many modules and plugins available to increase its capabilities since it has a sizable and vibrant community of developers and users. Building big, enterprise-level websites with complicated content and user administration requirements is a fantastic fit for Drupal.
