Poll: Do you believe technology makes us more efficient because of automation and time management, or less efficient due to having to constantly monitor the platforms/applications and record data manually?

Background Information: An interesting research study from HubSpot shows 82 percent of respondents are still losing hours a week due to managing different technologies, 72 percent of salespeople spend up to an hour a day on data entry and connecting records from different sales tools and 75 percent of marketers spend up to an hour a day analyzing data and connecting reports from different marketing tools.

Really depends on the size of the organisation. As a very broad generalisation. . . .the larger the organisation the more technology will help.

As an organisation with less than 10 people it may not be worth spending hours to automate a process, whereas within an enterprise that effort can be leveraged many times over due to the numbers of employees.

My point of view is that technology is making us more efficient. Technology makes work more easy, productive and prompt. Enterprises are fast adopting to new and advanced technologies to ensure improved productivity as well as secure and manage corporate sensitive data and assets.

For Eg: Enterprises are fast adopting to Mobile Device Management technology like MobiLock Pro, because with present corporate policies, mobile devices like smartphones, tablets, mPOS, rugged devices etc are deployed remotely to work forces for fulfilling business purposes or targets. MDM allows enterprises to secure, manage and control such devices and enterprises data easily through an Unified Endpoint Management system.

These technologies are letting us take easy and smart approaches and making us more efficient.

Technology is just a tool, any tool is as good as who's using it and/or making you use it.

Replace "technology" with "hammer" in your question... it depends.

In the old days when we would have to do our homework pre and post calls, it lengthened our days. Now we can do emails, texts and calls while en route.  It all depends on the individual and how prone one is to distraction. If you commit do only doing work during business hours and restricting social contact to outside of business hours, then yes, you will be more effective. If not, then you will be working (and socializing and killing time on the internet) from the moment you wake up until the moment you go to sleep and in that case, you are not more effective.

Many technical advances that fill our everyday life help us get everything we can from it. Instead of seeing technological progress as a disaster for relationships between people, you can see them as a way to improve your life and spend more time with your family and friends.
