So if you have a business and products and making some sales (below average) but products are solid. You feel you hit a road block because you cannot take your business to the next level.

What do you do in that case? You do not need money for anything, you just need someone to get you the exposure or acquisition or contacts.

What is the net step from there?
A startup Tech Guy who is getting is starting PR on the side with mentality, you pay only if covered.

It basically depends upon the product you carry for the business. You may have a product which is not relevant to the target market or the product is no more required to people due to any other factor. So firstly these factors need to be identified and cleared.

Ways to make some extra cash or bring down the expenses:
    1.  Side-hustle: find an area of interest to flex your limb at and passive income that can give you some extra bucks regularly. Examples. Freelance for a bit, create a blog, set up an ATM kiosk etc.
    2. Bootstrap: Cut down on expenses that may be unnecessary for a bit. Go halves while renting out a place, carpool or use more doable public transport to save travel costs.
    3. Eat out less: plan the pantry in such a manner that you are eating healthy and tasty right at home and not having cravings that hurt the purse.
    4. Save: Even if it as little as possible, make the effort to respect the cash you put away for the proverbial rainy day.
    5. Coordinate a minimalist wardrobe: Get down to the basics of clothes. Coordinate the colors that look great n anything.
    6. DIYs as gifts: Avoid expenditure on exorbitant tax laden goods, the imported ones especially.
    7. Avoid sharing information about how much you earn to too many people: It reduces accountability and expectation from. Let the private circles be small and less demanding. Go to fewer parties, drink less often and take pleasure in simple joys. With the wi-fi on of course:)

Well, first thing first, you must make sure you're promoting the right products/services. Once that is established, it is all about your mind-set, level of commitment, and determination. Staying consistent, focused, while completely separating yourself from distractions and any potential negative influence in your surrounding.

Maybe you are targeting the wrong market. And if you want to gain exposure for your products to be recognized, sign up for forums or communities where you can definitely network with a lot of people and gain possible customers which would be very glad to try and purchase the product you are selling.
Also, hire someone to market your product. Social media presence is one way of communicating with people, consumers and another way to advertise your product.
