Start Up HELP

I guess I should start by saying I apologize if this isn't the right place for this post...

I'm in the early stages of starting a non medical in home Senior care service in Western KY. I've researched the option of joining a franchise and I've decided to open my own business from scratch. I'm in the middle of 4-6 rural counties that do not have businesses offering non medical in home services.

If anyone has any information or advice, I would greatly appreciate it. My email address is KyleM127@bellsouth.net
Thanks again!!

-Kyle

I think the best option would be to create a business plan to determine if the business is viable. You can purchase a software to do so or hire an expert.

A business plan is a great way to map out the strategies you must follow to establish and grow your business, additionally it is a great tool to have when looking for funding, loans or partners.

A business plan must consider the prospective customers and proper research of the areas where you are going to operate.medical business never fails. But do take care of your financial planning and advice. You must design your plan keeping in mind the investment strategies too.

Pramfinancial: I must say that this is probably the most neglected factor so far. I've been so consumed with trying to figure out the ins and out of the business I haven't exactly planned many marketing or financial strategies. I do have enough finances available for start up and I'm prepared to not take a profit for a 6months to a year.

Also, as far as marketing where I'm from it's very small town. Everyone knows everyone and I have more than enough resources within the community.

The other worry I have is if there are enough potential customers with the funds available. I've spoken with friends that range from doctors, nurses, nursing home GM's, and specialists that all fully assure me that the clientele is there though.

I should also add that currently more than happy with my current job and don't plan on quitting. I realize this business idea would take up a great deal of time and I am prepared for that. If the business grew to the point where I couldn't handle it, I have prospects in mind to hire for help.

Thank you for your input Pramfinancial and please feel free to post. I sincerely appreciate it.

Hey kyle, I'm not sure if you got my email but in an era of social media, marketing is only a strategic way of playing on social media. Starting a business of any sort is very time consuming and if it requires full time attention, consider hiring a manager of some sort or to operate itor outsource it. As far as clientele goes, there's always people who needs services, it just takes time to get to them even when it's done right.9
