Google Breakup? Am I Crazy?

A few of you thought I was nuts when I suggested the possible demise of Google in my thread, "If Google Died Tomorrow" http://startupnation.com/forums/9336/1/1
Well maybe I`m not so crazy after all. Reputable search commentator Danny Sullivan has suggested the same thing. You can read about it here:http://tinyurl.com/ys3tt3
So what are your thoughts? You have to admit, it is possible.

I am going to disagree with you on this one.  Breaking-up Google would go against their growth initiatives.
That`s not the point. The point is Google may not have any say so in the matter. Remember the United States vs. Microsoft in 1998? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Microsoft So it can happen. Dale KingDKing1/3/2008 10:10 AM

I don`t know if Google will ever merit government intervention, and in that case, I don`t know if it will ever happen. But I am sure that the company is not even close to rising to their full power. In the future, I think google will be one of the biggest creditors in the world (with their gpay credit card), the biggest advertisement firm accross all mediums, and possibly be the people you pay your phone bill too (or not).
Microsoft is turning into a big player while yahoo is holding their same old pace of being a step behind google in everything. I really hope google doesn`t turn into the next microsoft.
