Is it Legal to charge for Public Information

I have a simple question. Is it legal to take or aggregate information that is freely available and basically sell it. I am planning a website that will take free information (from different government portals/data) like unemployment data and re-package it in a way that will appeal to a small niche and then charge a very modest money for it.

The reason I am asking is that I do not want to simple depend on advertisement for monitization. All info will be properly cited.
