Business License?

When someone asks if you have a business license, is that the same thing as
being incorporated?

I have an S-Corp but a service I`m looking into is asking for a business
license.

Thanks.

Nope, an S-Corp is not the same as having a business license. Generally, a license will be at the city or county level. Incorporation happens at the state level. They`re completely separate things that serve completely different purposes.

Exactly... It also depends on what type of business you are running. You might need more licenses then other businesses. Make sure to check with your state and county office.
