Anyone know of an affordable online backup service?

I`ve been in business as a consultant for just 6 months now, and already I have way too much original content I`ve written to backup efficiently. I figure there`s got to be a handful of online backup services for individuals and home-based businseses. Anyone know of any? Or know where I can find a review of different services to consider? I`ve already searched the web and had no luck.

For my home computer, I use Verizon Fios online back up. It updates regulary.

Hi all,
Something to keep in mind, security experts are now recommending businesses use off site backup providers. The main reason is simple to understand. What would happen to your records if your office were to catch fire? Or, how about an earthquake? Would your files survive even if they were on an external hard drive?

Hi Maggie - For online back ups I use Mozy`s online service. For free, they will give you 2 gig of automated backup space, which I`ve seen is enough for most people`s basic documents and files. When you get into digitial media files the 2 gig`s won`t cut it, for for around 50-60/year you get unlimited storage. I use this one! You set the frequency of backup and it handles it all for you, you can also access the files remotely from a client site for example if you need a file.

The other option that I know of that others use is Carbonite.

Thanks everyone! Looks like the favorites are Carbonite and Mozy. I`ll take a closer look at both, then let you guys know what I learn. I do have a bunch of photos to back-up, so I`ll need space for that.

I am really suprised you had no luck with a search on the net as I found my back-up providers through google. This article about tracking software, backups and crash plans for laptops discusses online back-ups amongst other issues tidbits.com/article/10165TidBITS
