How to network at Chamber of Commerce events?

Ok so I plan on attending a Chamber of Commerce event. What is normal protocol for attending these events...do you sit through a dinner, seminar, etc, and at the end network? Am I just trying to introduce myself and exchange business cards or am I really trying to make sales? I have a custom mens suit business so what do you think I should do?
Thanks

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm thinking though because of the type of product I offer which is suits, it will pretty much appeal to everyone. I can see a realtor or web designer having trouble making business because not everyone needs to sell their home or have a web site made up. Most people in business though purchase suits don't they?
