Content Marketing: What is it?
I`m sure you`ve all heard of article marketing, but in case you haven`t heard, there`s another form of marketing that is becoming more and more prevalent online called "content marketing." So what exactly is content marketing?
Content marketing is all about building relationships with your customers - not just promoting your business or your brand. In other words, it`s about taking information and turning it into something that customers actually look forward to receiving - something they would want to tell others about. For example, giving away an e-book for FREE would be a form of content marketing. A newsletter or blog would also be forms of content marketing, but so can an advertisement.
For example, Burger King`s new "Whopper Freakout" campaign is a brilliant example of both viral and content marketing. It also has strong entertainment value. It pisses off customers, it disses competitors and it has the whole world talking about it. More importantly, Burger King is selling more Whoppers because of the campaign.
If you haven`t seen it, you can check it out here:

So are any of you guys doing any form of content marketing? Care to share it with the forum?

I created a blog yesterday just for the fun of it.
I have not done anything special (don`t know how - I was lucky to get it this far).
And I am certain it needs some professional help to do all the things to make it a propoer business blog; but I just decided to do it for the hell of it.
What do you think?

I will check out your site for content marketing resources. I`m currently reading "Cashing in on Content" by David M. Scott.
We just started a newsletter a few months ago. I knew that an E-newsletter was a marketing essential for us, but was struggling for valuable content that would be pertinent to what we do (USB replacement caps).
After some brainstorming we decided that a constant feature of our newsletter would be reviewing and suggesting Portable Applications. It seems to be well received by our newsletter subscribers. (See our current newsletter at http://www.rookaps.com/newsletter_0108.htm</A>)
We also feature a new USB device everymonth. We are very much open to other ideas too!
Thanks.
Being an Aussie, I have to ask why you used Roo and the Kangaroo logo.
I found no references to Australia on your site (not there has to be).
I am very happy you are promoting our Aussie icon but am also intrigued.

Ric
Why RooKaps?... I will tell you offline.
