T-Shirt Business

Hello,
I am a little afraid that my post coincides with the thread from painreceptors, but I post it anyway.
I (17 y-o, student) am planning to start a Shirt Business where customers can order customized T-Shirts, Polos, etc. I came to this idea, because sometimes, I would like some special slogan on my shirts and could not find a service that does that around my place.
I already reserched a little about Business plans and was pretty shocked how long they are. Can somebody help me with research information or sites on the subject, about competitors, also information about my marketing plan?
Thank you in advance.
Greetings,
Yoda

    Contact your local Small Business Administration and make an appointment to sit down with them. They are an incredible FREE resource that can help you write your business plan and research your market. They will also assist you in looking at the logistics of the cost of starting and running your business.  Give them a try. My local SBA office is wonderful.

    I agree with everyone`s posting and I was going to suggest SCORE & the
    SBA. I`ve been envolved in the apparel industry for years and could offer
    you some help &/or words of experience!

    Thanks for the encouraging answers. I really was put off by the length of some business plans I saw, Marketing plan, Research information... I hope it is not really this hard. To contact the SBA is a really good idea, I suppose. I never thought about anything like this. Sometimes, you don`t see the most obvious opportunities.

    Sometimes, you don`t see the most obvious opportunities.<!--
    var SymRealOnLoad;
    var SymReal;

    Sym()
    {
    window.open = SymWinOpen;
    if(SymReal != null)
         SymReal();
    }

    SymOnLoad()
    {
    if(SymRealOnLoad != null)
         SymRealOnLoad();
    window.open = SymRealWinOpen;
    SymReal = window.;
    window. = Sym;
    }

    SymRealOnLoad = window.onload;
    window.onload = SymOnLoad;

    //-->

    Don`t be discouraged. The SBA in your area is the best resource ever. Best
    of all it`s free.

    Good luck, I have been in the t-shirt business and I will tell you that the
    t-shirt business is good, but you constantly have to come up with new
    ideas.
