I enjoy writing quotes for fun and relaxation. Here are 10 of my most recent quotes. I`m not suggesting they`re instant classics, or anything like that. But I like them, and some of them are thought-provoking.
"You can beat a dead horse all you want...it`s still going to be dead."

"Bad luck favors the unprepared."

"If working smart is the key to success, why aren`t all geniuses successful?"

"Don`t ever be afraid to reach for success. Your arms may be longer than you think."

"Before you play follow the leader, make sure the leader is worthy of being followed."

"When you break a promise, you`re not only breaking your word, you`re shattering your reputation."
"Be careful when buying hype. It`s usually worthless."
"Failure can be expensive, but its lessons are often priceless."
"Time is on your side, only if you`re the one controlling the clock."
"To be the best you can be, you first have to figure out who you are."

LOL! This one`s my favorite... "You can beat a dead horse all you want...it`s still going to be dead."    Yeah, that`s one of my favorites as well.  Thanks for your feedback, Craig! David Jackson DavidJackson5/6/2009 10:47 AM

They are your creations David? Some sound familiar.    That`s a fair question. Yes, these are all original quotes written by me. The reason a few may sound familiar is because they`re tongue-in-cheek caricatures of famous quotes you may have heard before. For example, the quote "A bird in hand is worth two in the bush" became "A bird in hand is worth a hand full of crap." David JacksonDavidJackson5/7/2009 10:24 AM

I agree with those that recognize these quotes as having originated with other authors.  There are lost of collections of quotations on the web.  My experience is that those who quote authors have generally NOT read the original work..  For example, there are lots of interesting quotes from Shakespeare, but those who quote him often have not read his plays.  They want to sound clever, but really are not very clever.

    Hot off the press...

"A cynic is someone who is unhappy with his own life, so he spends his time criticizing others."

"Whoever said perception is reality was in reality very perceptive."

"Patience is only a virtue, if you are patient with the right things."

"Maybe money can`t buy friends, but it can sure buy one heck of an entourage."

"When all else is lost is often when people find themselves."

"If money is the root of all evil, then why isn`t Satan on any of the bills?"

"Take no prisoners...unless you happen to be a warden."

"I like life. It sure beats the alternative."

"The only person who can determine when it`s your turn to be successful is you."

"The more times you fail, the closer you get to success."

"It`s easy to blame circumstances for your failures, but more often than not, you created the circumstances."

"Don`t worry about doing everything right - just do something."

    "Nothing ventured is nothing achieved."

"He who laughs last probably didn`t get the punchline."

A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks other have thrown at him
Business, more then any other occupation,is a continual  dealing with the future;it is a continual calculation,an instinctive exercise in foresight

Money may not buy happiness but it`s far better to cry in a Corvette than in a Yugo!"

Believe it or not, when I was in my early 20`s, I actually bought a Yugo. What a joke! I ended up taking it back to the dealership after 2 weeks, and getting my money back.
