Retaining current subscribers

Our on-line store uses phplist to mail out our weekly newsletter to our clients. At this point we have just over 700 subscribers.
We are in the process of switching from phplist to Aweber simply to increase rate of delivered emails to the client`s inbox and maintnanence associated with phplist.
However, Aweber requires the users to confirm that they want to continue getting our newsletter before we can use their service to send out our newsletters.
I am a bit worried that when we ask our subscribers to confirm getting our newsletter with Aweber, the users will simply not want to go through the hassle of confirmation and not respond to the confirmation request. Thus, we`ll lose them as a subscriber.
Someone suggested that I should  include a message in our current newsletter making our subscribers aware of the changes from phplist to Aweber.
Anyone had a similar dilemma?
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
