How to market a great idea?

I currently have a great idea involving a guaranteed hit in the food industry, Kraft and Near east foods would take the idea and shelve it within a year easily!!! Don`t know how to approach the company with my plan?

Kraft actually has a website for you to submit your ideas.  Be careful about the ownership of your idea - you want to make sure you still own it after you submit it.  Here is the URL.

I attempted to call  & email several companies that  i thought would be very interested. One has called me, very interested in seeing what i have to offer.  I know that i`ve got to get a trademark or attempt to patten it soon!! 
i`m excited but unsure of this whole process??
