A new approach for growing businesses...

Traditional approaches to developing strategies for new businesses rely on outmoded and ineffectual methods such as PEST / SWOT / Porter`s Five Forces. These approaches may help to collate ideas and issues but don`t actually lead to strategies.

A new approach has been developed as part of an MBA project at the University of Strathclyde, which adapts techniques used in large, world-class organisations for use with entrepreneurs in new and growing businesses. Essentially, it employs a cognitive mapping methodology which creates a robust business model which is visual, easy to buy in to, but hard for competitors to emulate. Entrepreneurs love it because it speaks their language, is jargon free and delivers impactful results.

More and more business are using this approach as the inadequacy of previous methods is all too clear.
