How do I copy protect printed documents?

Does anyone know of an economical way to copy protect a printed document? I own a Home Inventory business and am currently working on a printed book that I am going to self publish and sell. My concern is that customers will purchase the book and make copys of the inventory forms.
I have seen documents that, when copied, will have something printed across the photocopy that was not visible on the original. How is that done? Anyone have any ideas on how I can accomplish this.
I have worked long and hard for the last 4 years compiling this book, and do not want to have it stolen or have the copyright violated.
Thank you.

This seems to work the way you described it.

Any other suggestions, or do I just have to hope that it does not get the copyright violated?
