Creating an .ico?
The easiest way I`ve found .... make a 64 x 64 px new image in your image program .... stick in whatever you want your icon to be ( image, letters, etc. ), then resize to 16 x 16 px. Save it as favicon.ico and put it in your sites root ( main ) directory. In your header tags, put this without the spaces at the beginning and end ....< link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" />

We then created a favicon file using a website such as http://www.favicon.co.uk/ or http://www.degraeve.com/favicon/. We found these by doing a Google search for "favicon creator".
Once you have the favicon.ico file, just upload it to the root directory of your website.
Once the favicon.ico file has been uploaded, go to your website. It might take hitting refresh a couple of times to make your favicon appear.
It is as simple as that!
