How to approach a potential business partner

I know a few companies that I would like to partner with and I wasn`t sure how to approach them. I run a software training company that does software training for businesses that use customized software. So I was thinking to partner with some software developers. I just don`t want to call them and say "hey" I want to partner with you. any ideas or suggestions?

you should emphasize on THEIR benefits when negotiating with them. That way, you will be listened to. good luck

Firstly, Let them know you are setting up a few "strategic Partnerships" ..Then say they you thought it might make sense for both of you to chat.  I ahve been seeting these things up for years.. Your a SW training shop..?  What states do you cover?
