How many books do you read in a month?

Readers are leaders.  How many books do you read in an average month?  Do you read business books?  Do you read for fun?

I read both.  I read about 1 to two books a month--depends on the size.  I have read some great books that just cause me to reflect on life and people.  But I`ve read some great business books to help my business grow.  I think it`s important to get kids reading at a young age as they can find treasures and knowledge by themselves.

2-3 books per week for me. About half fiction and half business. (Like Craig, I don`t watch TV literally at all. I`m sure I would read less if I watched TV.)

    - I like that. I read some books like Business for Beginners by Frances Mcguckin - Start Your Own Business by Rieva Lesonsky  and all the Halo books by Eric Nylund but other than that recently i only read article`s on the net mostly article`s on Entrepreneur.com and some on this site as well but i have been thinking of subscribing to Entrepreneur Magazine

I usually have 3-4 books going at one time and probably complete 5-6 in a normal month.  However, when I am on vacation I become a reading fiend and usually read 14-16 books on a two week trip.  I also get between 30-35 magazines a month - on a wide variety of topics.

Wow!!!  I thought that there would be a lot of readers on here.  I really think that people who read stimulate their minds and their minds keep sharp.  There are so many benefits to reading even just 20 mintues a day.  Keep reading!!!

It depends. I used to read more, thought. Today I feel very anxious and stressed sometimes, only because I don`t have time enough to read all the things that I want to read. It gets really stressful sometimes, and can affect me physically. Does that happen to anyone else here?Anyways, when I read, I try to read about business-related content. I`m reading Founders at Work, Stories of Startups Early Days right now, and after that I`m planning to read a book about company evaluation, as because I want to get better at the subject.

Reading to your kids is important!  Look at the ad campaigns to get children reading.  These are the leaders of tomorrow.  I want leaders that are literate.

That`s a good thing if your daughter will be on here in another twelve years or so.  Teach them young.  You have her on the right track!

I loved reading "Where the Wild Things Are," in fact saved that as I also loved the illustration. We read to my daughter every night, she is not a reader but her vocabulary is quite extensive.

I love reading and am someone who can still spend hours in the library; reading, lounging, discovering and checking out about 10 books.

My idea of paradise; a stack of books, a beach chair, umbrella, sand under my feet and the ocean (preferably Caribbean) although I am on the East Coast and have easy access to the Atlantic.

Wow!  100 books a year is awesome!  I am impressed.   What are some of your favorite books?  The books that I enjoyed the most last year was "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hoseini, "The Gift" by Richard Paul Evans, and "The Quickie" by James Patterson.  The other books were okay, but these are the three that stayed on my mind long after I finished reading them.  I still have a stack of books that I want to read, but I love getting recommendations.

Great job on home schooling.  I admire those that are able to do it.  I don`t think I could handle home schooling.  I think that in difficult subjects, my little girl gets too frustrated with me and just wants me to give her the answers, which I don`t and she thinks I just like to see her struggle.
I read with my little girl and have read plenty of 2nd to 3rd grade books.  I don`t care for Junie B. Jones series as the little girl talks in baby talk and says words like "bestest" and "stupid, smelly school bus".  But my little girl likes them and all her friends are reading them and talkinag about them.  I have encouraged her to read other books and she is getting more interested in other books--from talking with others, I should just be happy that she is reading.

I have a small stack of books that I want to read  (I get to choose free books every month from BookWise and I haven`t been able to set aside enough time to read them all.)  I will take your recommendations as I get to those.  Thanks!

I read about 4 books a month on average.. mostly non-fiction books on small business, popular economics. I`m a pretty slow reader...

I just finished Richard Branson - Losing My Virginity... what a great book and amazing story.

3-4 books per month.  Mostly non-fiction.  I find I have to schedule time to read or else the books pile up.
