Door to door sales and marketing

Happy new year Question I was wanted to know if anybody in the startup nation utilizes door to door sales and marketing for there company.  What are the best suggested methods and techniques.  I currently have a residential consumer based business the average price point of a sales is less then a $100 U.S.  I`m trying to create a plan for introducing the service and company and/or planting the seeds future sales.  Any ideals or past experiences. By the way door introduction will be supported with door hanger collateral (flyer`s)  Help!!ken (Denver,CO)
