Interested in the Entertainment/Alcohol business

I am very interested in becoming a distributor and promoter for several alcohol brands or, or perhaps also, working on an event planning business.  I have contacted several vodka companies and none of them have been able to point me in any direction.  I would love any advice you all might have for my situatiation.

When i want to start a business that already exists, i use those businesses as my classroom.  I go and ask lots and lots and lots of questions.  That is where i would start.
