Agree with you partially. Suppose, paid trafic is preferable (from ROI point of view) at "Action" level of funnel, when it's targeted on "hot" leads. For expanding target audience it might be very expensive...

Paid Traffic is costly, but for Startup businesses, must go with referral traffic and organic traffic, and if you are Going for paid Traffic, then also move to get traffic from referrals, and organic as it reduces your paid cost.
