buy a living by getting money from ads ! is it a good idea ?

I am going to build my Free E-books Page.The sources of E-books are from various sites and forum that I`ve known.And then I get money from ads.Is it a good idea ?

One question... Why will people read your ebook and how will that get them to visit the ads placed inside?Really I am asking about your whole plan of attack in order to bring attention to your ebook.I hope you will provide a more complete picture of your plan.
