Hi all,

If you could go back in time, what decisions would you have done differently when making your startup?

Basically, what I would like to know is what lessons have you learned from starting-up your own business?

If I could go back and start again I think the advice I would give anyone starting up is not to believe all the hype in sales pitches for the various plugins offered when setting up my wordpress /e-commerce sites .

I have wasted a lot of time and money purchasing costly software that I thought I needed only to find out that the same or similar service was offered by a free or opensource alternative . My advice would be to research software needs critically and don't make rash decisions based on the blurb advertised and be wary of the discounts offered if purchasing right away .

Most of these discounts are available constantly and the offer is often not just limited to purchasing within so many hours . So just take your time and think about alternatives first . You may save yourself some money . Which as you know when starting up is crucial
