From the article it may seem that it's enough to get only a certain group of loyal customers and then not to worry about the quality of service. Although I do not think that was the idea.
I think that this strategy of finding the first clients is good and should work all the time. Loyal customers are really good advocates in case you make an unintentional mistake.
