Hi @Ryan,
I am a software programmer from India. I am researching on day to day issues (like finding an address in a street, finding a travel partner, forum for live technical discussion etc) faced by general public in different parts of the world (eg. Europe, Africa, Asia, America etc) that is still unexplored by program developers and that needs technology solutions so that I can build an application software. I thought it would be helpful to me if people share their ideas.

Interesting. 

I would start with doing focus groups and surveys to see what exactly it is that people want, before just jumping into the unknown. For example, people can just simply Google a business to get its address. I think your idea could work, but you'll want to fine tune it through market research first.

SurveyMonkey and Google Surveys both offer free options. Those are the two I have used in the past, but there are other options out there as well.
