The People’s Republic of China is the world’s most populous country with around 1.4 billion inhabitants. One of the cradles of civilisation, it experienced centuries of boom and bust until major land reforms in 1978 saw it become one of the world’s fastest growing economies and while that growth has slowed slightly it it is still a commercial juggernaut. It is now the world’s second biggest consumer marketplace and the world’s largest ecommerce market. This is despite the fact that the online shopping demographic represents only 25% of the total population, highlighting immense growth potential. But how can etailers access this market?
