How much does it cost to build an app?

I was reading the topics here and came across a suggestion to build an app for a delivery business. I thought that's a good idea that will do well.
I also thought of that business a year ago, but never got into it and now that I read someone starting that kind of business, I would like to consider it again.
So, do you have any idea on how much will it take to have an app built? I suppose it's going to be a simple one like a 3 step process. Something like:
Step 1: Point of origin
Step 2: Destination
Step 3: item (or anything else)
I will appreciate any help

I don't know too much about building apps, but the cost obviously varies depending on how elaborate the app is. The more features/functions, and the more involved the design of it is, will obviously increase costs. Don't quote me, but I think even the most basic of apps will still run you around $15,000 to $20,000 (USD) or more. Again, I am no expert, but you can use this handy tool to estimate your projected costs: http://howmuchtomakeanapp.com/
Also, if you're looking for help in building an app, check out this 12-step infographic from StartupNation. It will tell you everything you need to know/do to get your app built and launched.

Hi there!
It’s really been a difficult answer to roughly quote the cost to build an app. This reason behind was the functionality that you expect to build in your apps.
If your app budget is too low then, no worries go with on-demand apps, these apps are prebuilt in nature although, readily available in the market and it will also reduce your app delivered waiting time. To get a firm quote for your app development, I suggest you to get in touch with an app development company. Based on how your application will work & the functionalities you want to incorporate, the company will provide your a proposal along with the time & cost estimation.
However, to keep your development cost low, you can consider getting in touch with an offshore development center.
Creating an app like Uber is a long term process for which one has to work from start to finish with utmost commitment at least till the releasing of a beta version
