Use social networking as a way to source for candidate

Yes I believe social network is good source to know more about candidate. Linkedin is one of the best.

If you are looking for startup or business contacts and recruit people, you should definitely check out founderio (https://www.founderio.com). I am currently not looking for anyone particular, but if I would look for someone that would be a good start, but as already mentioned linkedIn and others are also always safe ways to find them.
